Ornament Punch Now Available

Published by under Big Shot,Sale-a-bration

The long wait is over! We're happy to announce the Extra-Large Ornament punch (item 119847) is now available to order.

The end of Sale-a-bration is a crazy-busy time, so I've been MIA lately.  But we're having lots of fun with the gorgeous Sale-a-bration sets… are you?

Here's a fun project featuring Bliss (I'm thinking that's been the most popular set this year):

The box is made from the 'Box No. 2' die, and of course the Scallop Envelope die for the other projects. They've been decorated with various embossing folders, the Tiny Tags stamps with matching Jewelry Tag punch and of course my favourite Sale-a-bration set: Bliss!

Happy stamping,

Petal Card Double Punch – Mini Box

Published by under cards

Petal Card Double Punch boxes

The Petal Card double punch creates a unique and distinctive punched shape.  I'm often asked all sorts of questions about this punch so today I thought I'd share a couple of fast facts.

  • It's called a 'double punch' because it does two actions… it punches and creates score lines all in the same move.
  • It's not the kind of punch that you can flip over to line up your stamped image. In fact, you can't see anything except metal when you turn it upside down because of its unique cut-and-score action. But it's the perfect size to add an inchy image (1 inch square) layer, as we did in these cute boxes above. The images were from the Level 2 hostess set called Cute By The Inch.
  • The punched shapes create all kinds of mini cards, mini envelopes and mini boxes. They are the perfect size for a chocolate or a cute little teeny tiny gift.

At the stamping day we had at my place the other week we made these boxes by joining FOUR punched shapes side by side, then joining the end tab to the first tab. Fold the bottom in to close the base, and you're done!

Joining TWO punched shapes creates a different kind of box… an even smaller one!

Got any other ideas? I'd love to hear them, and will share them in a future post.

Now while I'm here, a big thanks to Andrea Buckland who graciously gave me the Stylish Blogger Award. I'm not sure I'm deserving, but thank you Andrea.

As per the rules, I'm to link to 8 other bloggers (which I'm yet to do… but it's on my ToDo list!) and share 8 things about myself. Hmmmm, let me see…

1. I've been married for 14 years and have 3 kids (10, 7, 4).

2. I love stamping and papercrafts in general, but am also a quilter and have a serious infatuation with fabric.

3. I am an Apple Mac-loving convert.

4. I have Hashimotos thyroiditis.

5. We're 'tree-changers'. We moved from the city 5 years ago and have loved every minute of living in a small town 'out in the country'.

6. I used to work in publishing (writing TV guides for the daily papers).

7. I've been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator for coming up to 4 years, and it's the best job I've ever had.

8. I'm scared of slugs. They give me the heebie-jeebies.

I hope you've been enjoying some quiet and creative moments of late. I've been busy busy busy, but that just makes the relaxing time even more special. Okay, the truth is I've been playing with beeeee-uuu-tiful new products that will be available from next month when the Autumn-Winter Mini catalogue is released. (One of the benefits of being a demonstrator is that we get to pre-order goodies from yet-to-be-released catalogues!) Mmmmmm.

The good news is there's still 2 weeks left of Sale-a-bration. And 2 weeks left of the Summer Mini catalogue.

Two weeks!?! Where has the year gone!

Happy stamping,

How Big is Mini?

Published by under cards

After I posted this card to my blog last week I had some questions about how the Mini Library Clips compare to the library clips in the Clip Assortment pack (both are on p139 of the Idea Book & Catalogue).

Mini library clip

Even though the measurements are in the catalogue sometimes it helps to see them next to each other….

Eek, sorry about the lighting! The measurements are in centimentres, but I guess you worked that out. ;)

I'm totally loving the Mini Library Clips (on the left) and have been using them A LOT. They are so teeny tiny CUTE and come in four great metallic colours!!!

I'm just putting the finishing touches on the March newsletter which I'll send out tomorrow. This month we talk about different things you can do with ink refills, there's an inspirational project of the month, and this month's Mojo Booster Links are to videos! There's also a very special 'Special' for my fabulous customers. If you don't already have a demonstrator and would like to subscribe to my newsletter, just enter your email address up there in the top right hand corner of my blog where it says Subscribe!
