Fresh Fish

Published by Simone under cards

Something to bring a smile to your face today.

Stamp sets: Just Beachy, Basic Phrases. Ink: Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Stazon Black. Cardstock: Brilliant Blue, Whisper White.

I was inspired to make this card after checking out Michelle Zindorf’s stunning works of art on her blog. Ok so I’ve got a looooong way to go, but this was a first effort! LOL

It is amazing what Michelle can do with a brayer and clear embossing powder. WOW!!! Make sure you visit her tutorials. Actually, ‘WOW’ doesn’t even begin to describe it!

Check back tomorrow for some exciting news about Stampin’ Up!’s September promotion!

Happy stamping,

Soft Summer

Published by Simone under cards

My dear Secret Sister sent me a beautiful card this week featuring the Soft Summer stamp set, available for a limited time from the Spring Mini Catalogue. (For an explanation of the Secret Sister program visit this blog post). It looks gorgeous with its Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss and Close to Cocoa colours, and just a lovely touch of Chocolate Chip.

It’s a bit difficult to tell from this pic but she’s added chunky glitter to the middle of the raised flowers. How cute is that!!! Thank you Secret Sister :)

Have a great day, and don’t forget to check back soon for a card that will make you chuckle!

‘Sense Of Time’ Journal

Published by Simone under 3D projects

As promised, here’s the Sense Of Time journal I decorated for someone special.

I think the images in this set are perfect for off-the-page projects as well as cards, so I can see this set getting a good workout! I CASEd this project from one of my SU sister demonstrators from the US (her details are not with me so I’ll add them tomorrow).

The journal is available from Stampin’ Up, and is of fantastic quality with sturdy chipboard covers on the front and back, and solid O-ring binding.

Add some section dividers made from the round tab punch and voila! a beautiful hand-stamped journal. It would make a great gift for a special someone to jot down their dreams, record a special holiday, or even stamp out their collection of Stampin’ Up! images for easy viewing! LOL.

I want to share with you a nifty idea for making ribbon bookmarks (see below).

Add a ribbon slide to the end of your ribbon. (Mine uses one from the delicious Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware on So Saffron ribbon.) To stop it sliding off, tie a knot in the end then singe the trimmed ribbon ends with the flame from a lighter or match. This stops the ribbon from fraying! Okay, so take extra care not to singe anything else!!

Thanks for stopping by today. Come back and visit soon for a look at a beee-uuuutiful card that my Secret Sister sent me today. Oooooh happy mail… love it!!!

Happy stamping,

Sense of Time

Published by Simone under cards,classes

I’m having loads of fun getting ready for our upcoming Make It Manly class, especially with the classic Sense Of Time stamp set (p4 Spring Mini Catalogue). I must admit, this wasn’t the set I was most excited about when I first saw the mini, simply because I *thought* it wasn’t my style. Oooooh…. but I think it is now!!! LOL.

I especially love how that little ‘seconds’ hand (within the main clock image) fits perfectly in Stampin’ Up!‘s 1" circle punch, so it can be raised or recessed for a bit of dimension.

I left the sentiment off this last card so it’s ready to use for whatever the occassion. I can always add the "Happy Birthday" or "Get Well" or "Happy Retirement" message later on.

These cards are super simple to make. The girls who are coming to Class next Sunday will enjoy making these, along with other ‘blokey’ cards.

Sorry, this class is booked out but email me to request priority notification of the next class schedule. Or book a workshop where you can try your hand at making these projects too.

I’ve also just finished decorating a journal with these stamps. I’ll share those soon.

Happy stamping!

Great Friend

Published by Simone under cards,catalogue

Great Friend card

I’m so excited to share this card with you, featuring the brand new Great Friend stamp set. Great Friend is featured in the Spring Mini Catalogue, and is available right now until the end of November.

This card was made by Wendy Gifford, one of the talented demonstrators in my team. She was inspired by the scrap page found on page 4 of the mini catalogue (on the right). I love this! It reminds me that there is no simpler way to be inspired than by flicking through the pages of a Stampin’ Up! catalogue.

Happy stamping,
