About Me

Published by Simone

Welcome! My name is Simone, and I live in Regional Victoria, halfway between Ballarat and Daylesford. I am married with a son and two daughters.

After studying and working at Monash University (Linguistics Dept), I moved into the publishing industry. In recent years I went back to Uni to get my Primary teaching qualifications, and also rediscovered my passion… papercrafting!

I first discovered Stampin' Up! in August 2007 after being invited to a Workshop at my sister's house. I had never picked up a stamp before then (well, not since I was a kid) and I still remember thinking WOW I can really do this! It wasn't long before I joined up as a demonstrator and then the fun really began.

I love having my own hobby and creative outlet, and stamping is perfect for that.

What I love most about Stampin' Up! is how everything is coordinated – the colours, the stamps, the accessories, everything! It really makes it easy to focus on the craft, and not spend time and effort trying to match colours and accessories.  It couldn't be easier. In fact the papercrafting community is very generous, with the practice of CASEing (copy & share everything, with acknowledgements of course) happily embraced. It's a bit like cooking… add the ingredients, follow the recipe and you can create it all!

After joining Stampin' Up! I also discovered there was a whole world of obsessed papercrafters just like me! I have met so many wonderful people since I joined. New customers, fellow demonstrators and new team members quickly became new friends.

In my first year as a demonstrator I welcomed eight Level 1 demonstrators to my team, and three Level 2s - and more have joined since then. I can hardly believe there are well over 60 of us now, and that I'm  a Senior Manager and mentor of the gorgeous EurekaStampers (our team), having earned numerous sales, recruiting and leadership awards. At our recent Convention in Sydney I was honoured to be named as one of the top 25 Demonstrators of the Year (16th place) and came 2nd in Australia for the Leadership Award. I also qualified for the 2010 Incentive Trip: an all-expenses paid trip to Hamilton Island for 2, thanks to the wonderful generosity of Stampin' Up!.

Each of the demonstrators in our team had different reasons for joining the Stampin' Up! family – some to save money, some to make money, and some to do both! Regardless of the kind of demonstrator we are, we all love inspiring each other through our online team forum, group swaps and getting together to stamp. The regional training days, annual convention, and team stamping days are some of the most fun because they combine stamping and friends. What more could a girl want?
