Sale-a-bration Product of the Week: Lotus Blossom

Published by under cards

So Sale-a-bration has been going for a few weeks now, and I’ve noticed a trend among my customers who have earned a Sale-a-bration freebie: the Lotus Blossom Sale-a-bration stamp set is a very popular choice! This 3-step stamp set is beautiful and cleverly designed.

Check it out in this video:

Stampin’ Up! shared these samples with us this week on our Demonstrator site. I love them all, they are so beautiful.

Coastal Cabana Lotus Blossom

The sponging of Crumb Cake ink around the Naturals Ivory card base is a beautiful touch to this card. The burlap ribbon and tea lace doilies finish it off perfectly.

Cobbler Lotus Blossom

I love the bold red on this lotus blossom, over a layer of Typeset Specialty Paper.

Calypso Lotus Blossom

The soft Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon and Venetian Crochet Trim add a feminine touch to this card.

Blushing Bride Lotus Blossom

And here we have a touch of Blushing Bride in the chevron ribbon and patterned paper from the Subtles designer series Colour Collection.

Did you choose this as your free Sale-a-bration item or is it still on your wishlist?

Stampin’ Up! Simply Pressed Clay and NEW Alphanumeric Molds

Published by under cards,techniques

Our long summer holidays are winding down…

Can you hear it? “Nooooooo!”.  In our little home we are totally and utterly in a state of denial.

It is just too hard to get back to reality after chillaxing at the beach for the past few weeks.

beachfilterjpg

But it’s time to pack away the beach bags and camping gear for another year, as we get back to the school book lists and focusing on all the exciting things ahead.

On the stamping front we have our big annual team gathering in less than 2 weeks, as well as workshops, stamp clubs, virtual “Craft@Home” clubs and more.  Lots of fun to look forward to.

Today’s share is a quick little card that is part of a series. The cards were all created from the “This Day” Project Life Mini Card Collection. Although the 30 double-sided cards in the pack are perfect for Project Life, I thought they were fun to use on cards too!

And even better… the entire Project Life mini card collection is FREE with a $90 purchase of Stampin’ Up! products.

LookWhosTurning9

We also used the Stampin’ Up! Simply Pressed® Clay and Alphanumeric Mold for the three dimensional number on the card front. Love that stuff!

Stampin' Up! Alphanumeric Molds, available in Australia from www.simonebartrum.stampinup.net

The molds make letters that are 1.9cm high. Even though it’s called Simply Pressed ‘Clay’ it is not what I would normally think of when I hear the word clay. This stuff is kind of soft and smooth. Miss 8 says it feels fluffy like marshmallow. It is kind of like plasticine, but… not. Oh well, you will just have to try it for yourself 😉

Stampin’ Up! Simply Pressed Clay and Molds – Tips On Use

  • I find the best way to use the clay and molds is to put just enough clay in to fill the shape without it spilling over the sides too much.
  • Pop the mold in the freezer for about half an hour.
  • When it comes out just flex the mold in towards the clay to help it ease away from the sides of the mold.
  • After that it just slips out.

In the card above I coloured the clay by tapping it into the ink pad and working the colour through with my fingers until it was evenly distributed and all the streaks were gone.

Gloves might help, if you’re worried about inky fingers. Which I’m not. 😉

Another option is to paint the white clay with ink after it is set – which is a great idea if you haven’t yet worked out which colour to use!

Bloom For You + Fun Flower Punch = Perfect Match

Published by under cards

Thank You For Caring card

The Bloom For You stamp (page 139 Annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue) and its matching Fun Flower punch (p219) are a match made in paper craft heaven!

With only two items you can make a range of cut Bloom For You flowers in any colour you want. Great for making 3D flowers and paper bouquets, as an element on a card or scrapbook page, and because these are a fairly decent size they make great gift tags too. Bloom For You stamp & Fun Flower punch

To make these Bloom For You flowers  I used a couple of extra co-ordinating punches that I had on hand, and they really helped to finish the flower nicely withOUT any hand cutting. Yay for that!

The other punches I used were the small (2.2cm) Scallop Circle Punch and the half inch circle punch, all available from my Stampin’ Up! online store. To assemble, it was simply a matter of stamping the flowers a number of times in the different coloured Stampin’ Up! classic inks and then punching out the required pieces. Layer the pieces with a Stampin’ Dimensionals in between or just some adhesive.

Stampin' Up! In Colors: 2014-2016

Don’t forget the amazing Year End Close-Out sale is on. Check out my online store Clearance Rack for details.

Note: The colours used on the card at the top of this page are from the 2014-2016 In Color range –  Lost Lagoon, Crushed Curry and Blackberry Bliss – all on a Crumb Cake note card. The panel of patterned paper is from the Park Lane Designer Series Paper pack.

Stampin’ Up! Get Your Santa On

Published by under cards

Get Your Santa On - Christmas cards (www.simonebartrum.com)Back in September our Stampin’ Up! team members were invited to join a Christmas card swap.

As always, it was incredibly inspirational.

I especially loved a design by Emma Calleja which featured the cutie Get Your Santa On set. I hadn’t bought it at that stage, but that soon changed after I saw Emma’s adorable card which featured little flags punched from the Trim The Tree paper stack using the Banner punch. This is my version of it:

Get Your Santa On It prompted me to continue the theme by using other feature images in the set, and different embossing folders. Get Your Santa On Get Your Santa On At only AUD$27.95 Get Your Santa On is not only a versatile stamp set, but great value too.   Get Your Santa On - www.simonebartrum.stampinup.net Images copyright Stampin’ Up!®

I got my Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities out for this project. The shading which is part of the stamped image makes it SUPER EASY to colour. I just used the medium or dark Blendabilities marker where ever there were shade lines, and light for the rest. The Dazzling Details glitter adhesive finished off the ‘fur’ on Santa’s coat. That’s a great little product at only $4.50 and will last for ages. Get Your Santa On

How are you going with your Christmas cards?

We’re in November now… where is the year going! Happy stamping,

Stampin’ Up! Too Kind

Published by under cards

Too Kind stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Too Kind is one of my favourite stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!. But the funny thing is, I only bought it recently.

I loved it so much that I THOUGHT I had bought it but every time I went to use it I couldn’t find it.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who has ever done that?

Anyway, I was tickled pink when I finally got it because I’ve enjoyed using it every single time.

This two-step stamp set never fails to delight.

The full blooms were stamped in Pool Party ink, and the detailed stamps in Island Indigo. The base card, greeting and seam binding ribbon bow are all in Crumb Cake. The sentiment is from Sassy Salutations.

Happy stamping,

Simone Bartrum, Stampin' Up! demonstrator Australia, Victoria
