About Me
Welcome!
My name is Simone, and I live in the goldfields of regional Victoria. I have been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator here in Australia for over 17 years.
When I first started, my 3 children were just toddlers, and those first few cardmaking classes that I taught were with the playgroup mums. Now two of those children are out in the world, working and studying, and my ‘baby’ is nearing the end of her time at secondary school. It sure goes fast!
In The Beginning
Where did it all begin? In 2007 (gosh, that sounds like a long time ago now) I went to a card making workshop at my sister’s house. I had never picked up a stamp before, and had lots of preconceived ideas about rubber stamps and what they could – and couldn’t – do!
I soon discovered that paper crafting is an incredibly versatile, enjoyable and practical art form. And just a teeny bit addictive too. In these crazy days where we are always rushing about, it’s so nice to switch off for a while and get ‘in the flow’ of some form of creativity.
After that first fateful ‘crafternoon’ I was hooked. It wasn’t long before I joined up as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator (mainly so I could buy my own supplies at a discount) and then the fun really began.
Stampin’ Up! Makes it Easy
I love having a hobby and creative outlet, and stamping is perfect for that.
What I love most about Stampin’ Up! is how everything is coordinated. The colours, the stamps, the accessories, everything! It really makes it easy to focus on the craft, and not spend time and effort trying to match colours and accessories. It couldn’t be easier.
In fact, the paper crafting community is very generous, with the practice of CASEing (Copy & Share Everything, with acknowledgements of course) happily embraced. And with amazing resources on social media – like Pinterest and YouTube – it’s never too hard to find ideas.
Unexpected Rewards
After joining Stampin’ Up! I also discovered there was a whole world of obsessed paper crafters just like me! I have met so many wonderful people since I joined. New customers, fellow demonstrators and new team members quickly became new friends.
In my first year as a demonstrator I welcomed eight demonstrators directly to my team – and many more have joined since then. I can hardly believe there are around 150 of us in our whole team now! I love being the cheerleader and mentor of the gorgeous EurekaStampers (that’s what we call our team)
Since becoming a demonstrator ‘just for the hobby’ I’ve earned many sales, team building and leadership awards. I was honoured to be in the Top 2 for Leadership for three years, and have held ranks in the Top 25 Demonstrators of the Year, and Top 10 in Australia.
It’s In Your Hands
I’m grateful to have qualified for the all-expenses-paid Incentive Trips to the Greek Isles, Alaska, Thailand, Europe and a Mediterranean Cruise, Hawaii, a Caribbean Cruise, Utah, Broome, Fiji and Hamilton Island, all thanks to the wonderful generosity of Stampin’ Up!, a fabulous team and loyal customers.
I now view this as much more than a hobby. This is my passion, my business and the thing I still do for the love of it.
Each of the demonstrators in our team had different reasons for joining the Stampin’ Up! family – some to save money and some to make money. And some to do both!
Regardless of the kind of demonstrator we are, we all enjoy inspiring each other through our online team forum, group swaps and getting together to stamp. The OnStage training days, team stamping get-togethers and online forum chats and virtual parties are some of the most fun because they combine stamping and friends. What more could a girl want?
