It All Started With One Crafternoon

In 2007 I went to a cardmaking workshop at my sister’s house, back when in-home workshops were all the rage. Although I’d always loved stationery, papers and scrapbooking, I had never picked up a stamp before and I had plenty of ideas about what rubber stamps could, and couldn’t, do.

One afternoon was all it took. I discovered that papercrafting is incredibly versatile, enjoyable and practical. And just a tiny bit addictive. In a busy world full of work, commitments and technology, there’s something special about switching off for a while, creating with your own hands, and getting into the creative flow. For me, it helps to calm my busy brain, and brings me true joy.

I joined as a demonstrator soon after, mainly so I could buy my own supplies at a discount. At the time my three children were toddlers, and my first cardmaking classes were with the playgroup mums. Those toddlers are all grown up now. Time certainly moves quickly!

Why Stampin’ Up!?

What I love most is that everything is coordinated. The colours, the stamps, the papers, the embellishments all work together beautifully, so you can enjoy the creative process without the stress of trying to match everything yourself.

They have great collaborations that bring us exciting tools, they innovate, and they’ve been around for almost 40 years which is pretty amazing these days.

And to top it off, the papercrafting community is wonderfully generous. CASEing (Copy and Share Everything, with credit of course) is happily embraced, and with resources like Pinterest and YouTube, inspiration is never far away.

The People Are the Best Part

The loveliest surprise of all has been the people. Customers, fellow demonstrators and new team members have quickly become friends.

In my first year I welcomed an amazing group of crafters directly to my team, and most of them are still with me today! Since then the EurekaStampers have grown to around 150 gorgeous crafters across Australia, and I love being their cheerleader and mentor. We currently have team members in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, and the ACT.

Along the way I’ve been honoured to be recognised among the Top Stampin’ Up! demonstrators in Australia, with awards for sales, team building and leadership, including #1 in Leadership, multiple Top 10 Sales positions, rankings in the Top 25 Demonstrators of the Year, and a place in the Global Top 100 (out of 55,000 worldwide).*

I’m also grateful to have earned 13 all-expenses-paid Incentive Trips to Disneyworld, the Greek Isles, two Alaska cruises, Thailand, Europe, Hawaii, a Caribbean cruise, Utah, Broome, Fiji and Hamilton Island. This has all been thanks to a wonderful team, loyal customers, a supportive family, and my genuine desire to help others enjoy creativity.*

What began as a hobby is now something I’m passionate about, and it continues to be a meaningful part of my life.

Curious About Joining?

Every demonstrator in our team joined for their own reasons. For many it’s simply to save money on their craft purchases; others enjoy earning a modest supplemental income by sharing creativity with friends, family and customers.

Whatever the reason, we all enjoy inspiring each other through our team forum, group swaps and team gatherings. OnStage training days, stamping get-togethers and virtual events combine crafting and connection, and they’re some of the most fun of all.
