Everything Masculine: Sept 2020 IDEAS Tutorials

Published by under cards

Hi friends, Welcome to the IDEAS blog hop for September. Our theme this month is “Everything Masculine”, and wow do we have some fantastic ideas to share with you.

We have cards, 3Ds and plenty of fun folds too.

The collage above is a sneak peek of all the amazing projects that the Design Team have contributed to the latest tutorial bundle. The IDEAS group is a collective of international demonstrators who each create unique tutorials to help inspire you and to make your crafting easy and fun. And you could get this bundle for free! (Read on for more info)

My tutorial includes a card and matching decorated gift box.

The instructions include all the measurements in both centimetres and inches, so you can create these projects too. All the designers have created similar detailed tutorials for their projects.

There are plenty of tips & tricks included in the tutorials. My tutorial looks at the awesome foam adhesive sheets and how you can use them with die cutting.

To get your hands on this Tutorial Bundle, all you have to do is place a $50 order with me at any time this month and the bundle is all yours for FREE! My team members will get it for free in our team forum.

You can also purchase this 55 page tutorial. Contact me for more information about this option.

Check out another sneak peek by the fabulous Pia Gerhardt.

If you are in Australia and would like to join my team so you can get these tutorials each and every month, check out this month’s fabulous joining special.

Card and Gift Box Set: YCCI

Published by under cards

Each month our You Can Create It (YCCI) subscribers are given a packet of supplies – like cardstock, paper and embellishments. The challenge is to turn those supplies into a completed project.

The August packet looked like this…

The packet included:

  • a Mini Paper Pumpkin Box,
  • some Elegant Faceted Gems and
  • a piece of Peony Garden designer series paper.

They can also add anything from the ‘extra materials’ packet (which is what I did here) or anything from their own supplies.

After a fun afternoon of crafting, this is what I made…

I spotlight-coloured one of the flowers on the paper using Stampin’ Blends, layered with coordinating cardstock and added a banner sentiment.

This gift box was added to card and gift ensemble that I was preparing recently for a very special friend for her birthday.

Design Team Projects

I’m in awe of the projects created by our Design Team contributors this month. Ah-mazing!

Touched My Heart by Stampin’ Up! [The Spot #124]

Published by under cards

Welcome to this week’s project for The Spot Creative Challenge. And for something a bit different, we have a gorgeous colour challenge!

About THE SPOT CREATIVE CHALLENGE:

Each week our Design Team of international creatives share projects based on a new challenge. It could be a sketch, a technique, a colour challenge or – as it is in this week – a theme challenge.

Each Tuesday at 9pm (Syd/Mel time) you’ll see a new challenge post on the challenge website (click to visit). You can play along, and if you want you can even enter your card in the weekly challenge by uploading your project (and you don’t even need a blog!).
A winner will be chosen each week.

Paper Piecing Technique

I used the Touched My Heart stamp set for this card, and a little paper piecing. This stamp set is a HOST set, so it’s available for anyone who places a qualifying order (in Australia this is $250).

Have you tried the Paper Piecing technique?

Simply stamp the same image on different coloured cardstock pieces, trim out the elements you need, and layer them together to create a single multi-coloured image.

It’s a bit like a jigsaw puzzle!

The trickiest bit for this card was cutting out those teeny tiny leaves.

The outline was stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink, the heart was trimmed from Cinnamon Cider cardstock, and the leaves were trimmed from Mint Macaron cardstock.

Colour Challenge – accepted!

Your Challenge

So now it’s your turn. Grab these colours – in ink, patterned paper or cardstock – then create a project. When you’ve finished, jump over to The Spot and upload a photo of your project. Have fun!

CI#83: Forever Flourishing

Published by under cards

I have to admit, these colours were a challenge for me this time but I’m so glad I joined in. After all, getting out of the comfort zone is the best part of doing these challenges!

I started with a Mossy Meadow tent-fold card base, then layers of black and Bumble Bee cardstock, with an extra Mossy Meadow patterned paper from the new Heartwarming Hugs designer series paper.

The gorgeous provided all that lovely foliage, from vellum and Bumblebee cardstock.

The few strands of thread behind the sentiment were actually from the – the black and white thread.

I cut off the length needed and then just separated the black from the white, as shown in the pic above.

And in more bright and sunny news…
the new BOX OF SUNSHINE kits are now available!

This special card-making kit includes supplies to make 8 cards & envelopes – and then you can use the gift box to create a care package for a friend.

Heartwarming Hugs [The Spot #122]

Published by under cards

Hi friends, Well it’s a busy day on the blog today – with the launch of the new Mini Catalogue and also the release of our monthly Tutorial bundle giveaway.

But I couldn’t miss also joining in with this week’s challenge over on The Spot.

With a theme that includes Coffee, Cocktails and Chocolates – seriously, how could I resist?!

For my contribution this week, I created a card and decorated mini coffee cup which doubles as a treat holder.

Both creations were made with some of the gorgeous products from the Heartwarming Hugs Suite. Check it out here.

On this card we used the Warm Hugs stamp set and coordinating Warm Wraps dies (also available as a bundle to save you 10%). Also the fabulous new Wrapped In Texture embossing folders.

The cute coffee cups are only just a little smaller than the regular cups that we have here in Australia, although having been to the US a few times I know they are considered ‘mini’ by their standards.

They would be fun to hold a gift card, some money, some yummy treats or even… coffee!

Here’s the link to this week’s challenge page so you can see what the other Design Team members created this week. Truly fabulous projects there.

Thanks for visiting today, and I hope you continue to have an awesome week.

Sending extra big hugs to my crafty friends here in Victoria, Australia, who are doing it tough at the moment with the new tighter Covid lockdowns. We’ll get through this… at least we have our craft!
