For Everything and Chit Chat Rubons

Published by under cards

Hi and thanks for visiting. Over the past week or two I’ve been highlighting different stamp sets from the new Summer Mini Catalogue. If you are visiting this blog for the first time, feel free to look back over past posts for ideas and inspiration on ways to use all the new goodies.

Today our card features the versatile For Everything stamp set, along with a phrase from the Chit Chat rubons.

Did you know that Stampin’ Up! rubons work on our grosgrain ribbons? They actually work on quite a lot of things!

I often leave the sentiment off my cards so that I can put the appropriate wording on when I need it, so these Chit Chat rubons are perfect. A very quick and easy way to finish off a card.

Don’t forget I’m taking bookings for workshops in January (get yourself a FREE pack of Sweet Treat Cups during January) and Sale-a-bration in February and March. The bookings are coming in, so contact me soon to get your preferred day.

Happy stamping,

For Everything

Published by under cards

This is my favourite stamp set from the new Summer Mini catalogue, and not just because I was able to earn it for free (another perk of being a demonstrator)!

This is a Matchbook Fold card. My upline Janine showed me how to make it, after she did it as a Make & Take on her trip to Noosa with Stampin’ Up! a few months ago. I hadn’t done a matchbook fold before (shock!), and recently CASEd this design for our team swap of card samples.

Come back tomorrow for another card featuring the beeee-utiful For Everything stamp set.

Happy stamping,

‘Circle Scissors Plus’ from Stampin’ Up!

Published by under cards

Hi stampers.

Today I’m sharing a simple little project made with the NEW tool available from Stampin’ Up!: the Circle Scissors Plus. With this tool you can cut out circles up to 6 inches in diameter, you can cut rings and….. it also draws circles because it comes with a marker attachment!

It took just a little practice for me to get used to it, but it really does work well. I love how it can cut out rings to make perfect little frames for scrapbook pages and Off The Page projects.

For best results:
– Use with a glass cutting mat (such as the one in the Summer Mini catalogue) to prolong the life of the blades
– Use a little bit of Dotto repositionable adhesive to hold the cardstock in place.
– When cutting rings, always cut the inner circle first. Then – without moving the cardstock or circle cutter – adjust the measurements and continue cutting.
– The markers work beautifully with the this tool. Just insert the marker into the Marker Attachment, so the tip of the marker is *just* sticking out, then tighten the grip so the marker is held firm.
– Use a light touch (thanks for Steph and the other demos on the ESAD-SU forum for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators for helping me with this technique tip). If you push too firmly the cutter might slip. Easy does it.

Today’s project features a glass jar that has been lying around my house for a while, and I thought I’d try to pretty it up. In addition to using the Circle Scissors Plus to make this project, I also used the gorgeous Kaleidoscope DSP and the new butterfly punch.

Happy stamping,

Hello – and Again!

Published by under cards

Here are some more projects using the new Hello Again stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalogue. This one is a gorgeous little box we made at Regionals.

And a 6×6 scrapbook page. See that ribbon and flower embellishment on the top right corner of the photo matt? That’s the pull-tab for the hidden journalling card – a nifty technique for keeping your thoughts private in a public scrapbook album.

And this card was made by my talented team member from Bendigo, Wendy Gifford.

If you’d like to try your hand at making projects like these with the new Hello Again stamp set, let’s get together for a free Workshop. You could even earn the stamp set for free as part of the generous Hostess Benefits!
Note: I’m now taking bookings for Sale-a-bration (Jan. 25th – March 31st 2010). This is a hugely popular time of year to host a workshop due to the extra benefits and great promotions that are offered. If you are thinking of hosting during that time, contact me soon to get your preferred date.

Thanks for dropping by. Check back tomorrow for a Sweet Treat!

Hello Again cardI

Hello Again stamp set; More Mustard, Old Olive, Rose Red cardstock and ink.

I'm finally able to share this cute card we made last month at our Stampin' Up! Regional Training Day in Melbourne, Australia. It features the fun new stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalogue, called 'Hello Again'.

It also comes with a matching standard Stampin' Around wheel, Retro Remix. How cool is that!

Don't you love that shiny polka-dot Chocolate Chip ribbon on the card? It's part of the Valet Ribbon Originals (p150 IBC) – love it!

I'll be back tomorrow for more Summer Mini highlights.
