Still a Reason to Smile

Published by under cards,specials

The limited edition Reason To Smile set has been hugely popular. So much so, that it has been on backorder a couple of times so far this month. (Don't worry if you're waiting for your copy to arrive, it's on its way and will come!)

LAST DAYS – Available until Saturday June 30

This two-step stamp set is easy to use and quite versatile: overlay both the solid and outline images to create a detailed image (as in the mini milk carton box above), OR use them separately as I have below.

Crumb Cake card base

Note card set with matching envelopes

3"x3" gift card in Crumb Cake, watercoloured directly onto the card base

Versmark-stamped background, linen thread bow

TIP: For a multicoloured image, use the wide brush-end of your Stampin' Write markers to apply ink in different colours directly onto the rubber (see Real Red and Old Olive flower above).

Just to recap, the Reason to Smile stamp set is only available until Saturday and there are two ways to get your hands on it:

1. FREE with a $125 purchase from any current catalogue. Just let me know if you'd like clear- or wood-mount.

2. Order it in CLEAR-MOUNT for $28.95* or WOOD-MOUNT for $35.95*. (* plus p/h)

Shoot me an email to place your order and I'll get it all delivered straight to your door, anywhere in Australia.

Happy stamping,

Convention 2012: Swaps

Published by under cards

One of the best things about our annual Convention for Stampin' Up! demonstrators is swapping finished projects with other 'demos'. This is seriously good fun!

This year I went off to Convention with a box of 3D projects and cards. It was all very good in theory, but I kinda underestimated how much extra room they'd take up in the suitcase (note to self: assemble 3Ds at destination next time or get a bigger suitcase! lol)

The pillow box handbags were created by adhering the lovely Stampin' Up! fabric to cardstock which I talked about back in this post. I loved them so much I thought I'd make a few dozen!

And here are some photos of us swapping on the first day of Convention.

Back at the hotel room we checked out each other's swaps and took photos of those we didn't get. It's all part of sharing ideas. Great stuff.

Here's just a small selection of the lovely swaps and special gifts I received from fellow demonstrators.

Of course there is no way any of us could swap with every demonstrator, but luckily for us Stampin' Up! put together lovely display boards so we could 'ooh' and 'aah' over all the great ideas.

Here are just a couple. Come along to Convention with us next year in Brisvegas as a demonstrator to see even more!

p.s. A quick hello to the lovely ladies I met on Saturday at our fundraiser event. I had such an enjoyable day and LOVE my teacups – hehehe.

Happy stamping,

Little Princess

Published by under cards

I borrowed my girls' favourite stamp set for this card (Stampin' Up!'s Little Princess)… perfect for the little princesses in our lives.

This card features:

– Lots of pinks (including Pretty In Pink, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Rose Red and Blushing Bride – all from Stampin' Up!),

– A generous helping of bling (rhinestone jewels and Dazzling Diamonds glitter) and

– just a touch of scented embossing powder – now available in our Australian Stampin' Up! Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue in 3 fun scents: vanilla, melon and cherry.

Where's the smell-a-vision when you need it?

Things are a bit crazy here at the moment – only a little over a week until I'm heading off to Canberra for our annual Stampin' Up! Convention. Yaaaayyy!! Soooo can't wait to catch up with friends and hear all the news, learn about upcoming products and generally have way too much fun.

Don't forget: still a week to go for free Designer Series Paper! Let me know if you want some and I'll get it sent straight to your door.

Happy stamping,

Spotlight On: Lovely as a Tree

Published by under cards

Lovely as a Tree is one of those stamp sets that has been around for a long time… but there's a reason for that!

It's such a beautiful and versatile set.

Lovely As A Tree

Many new stampers I've met over the years have fallen in love with this golden oldie. We used it recently at a Workshop while doing a few different techniques, including 'Thumping' and 'Faux Leather'.

If you've had this set for a while, dig it out and have another go. Now there's a challenge for you. 🙂

And if you don't have this set, you can find all the details on page 68 of the current Idea Book & Catalogue.

I can arrange for delivery to your door if you want this for your own – contact me for more information (and for a little surprise when placing your order).

Hope you have a great week. Things will be a little different here this week with the two oldest kiddlets at camp. Our littlest Miss has mum and dad all to herself and is planning on making the most of it!

Happy stamping,

Being a hostess means:

– you can help choose the Make & Takes or demonstration products
– you get a free thank you gift from me
– you and your friends can learn new papercrafting techiniques = more confidence!

I've got a couple of dates available for May workshops, and am also now booking for June and July. Contact me for more info.

Top 3 Framelits Tips

Published by under Big Shot,cards

The new Apothecary Art stamp set and matching 'Labels Collection' Framelits dies are two of my most favourite Stampin' Up! products EVER! So quick and easy, and the results are great every time.

They really are a wonderful treat in the new Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue.

Happiest Birthday - Apothecary Art stamp set

Black heat embossed frame from Apothecary Art, watercoloured with blender pen and ink, Wisteria Wonder flagged banner, Vanilla panel embossed with Stripes embossing folder, on a Sahara Sand base.

Framelits Tip #1

The best tip I could pass on is to use Post-It notes (aka 'sticky notes') to hold Framelits in place over the stamped image.

Begin by stamping your chosen image from the gorgeous new Apothecary Art set, then line up the matching Framelit over the top ensuring an evenly-spaced border. Secure it with a sticky note so the frame won't shift while the 'sandwich' is rolled through the Big Shot.

Even better, keep a stash of post-it notes with your Framelits so they'll always be where you need them.

Framelits Tip #2

Cut a Magnet sheet to size, and slip it in the plastic wallet that the Framelits come packaged in.

By doing this, the metal Framelits won't slide around in the wallet and it's much quicker to find the correct one. (click to enlarge image).

Don't have any magnet sheets? Grab some old fridge magnets instead (the advertising kind – they seem to be multiplying on my fridge!) and attach them to a cardstock base.

Framelits Tip #3

To help with easy identification of the different sized dies in the set, think of the largest die as No.1, the next size down as No.2, all the way through to the smallest being die No.6. (Or the other way around, if that works for you.) You can add a label to the coordinating Apothecary Art stamps so you'll always know which die to grab. For example, this label fits perfectly in die # 4.

Happy Stamping,

P.S. We had a fun time away camping recently… but I didn't take any craft gear this time, and must say I was itching to get back to it.
We all had a lovely break though, with happy hour all day by the campfire and the kids just ran around or rode their bikes the whole time. Gotta love this gorgeous country of ours.

Thanks for making my day by leaving some comment love below 🙂
