CTC116: Stampin’ Up! Dragonfly Dreams & Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits

Published by under cards

Welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty blog hop.
Every Sunday night at 7pm AEST/8pm AEDT, the CTC Crew share ideas from the latest Stampin’ Up! Catalogues. For our chosen project we either directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or we use the layout or colour combo as inspiration for our own creations.
This week, we are sharing our projects inspired by pages 20-31 of the 2017 Occasions Catalogue.

Come and join us! Make your own project and share it  in the CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge Facebook Group.

We were given a fairly broad scope this week for the CTC challenge. Eleven whole pages to choose from!

My inspiration came from a little card that was tucked down in the bottom right corner of page 26. It caught my eye, because it was highlighting the fabulous new  and I loved the dimension on the card. It looked as though the wings were flying right off the front.

I was inspired by the layout and the use of those delicate little dragonflies. Stampin’ Up!’s Detailed Dragonfly thinlits are gorgeous.

Here is what I came up with…

Detailed Dragonfly card. CTC116 by Simone Bartrum.

I swapped out the colours, taking inspiration from the Designer Series patterned paper.

Although in saying that, I did use Wisteria Wonder which isn’t actually listed as a coordinating colour but it sure goes well.

Wisteria Wonder… wow, haven’t used that colour in a loooooong time. I do love how these challenges get us trying different things.

I finished the inside with a little strip of patterned paper and the white card insert.

This card is ready to send off to my hostess from a recent workshop. Even after all these years (nearly 10 of them!) I still really love to hold workshops. It’s so much fun to create a card or 3 together, and learn little handy hints from each other. The banter and fun that goes on around the crafting table is my favourite part, and keeps me smiling all the way home.

Well onto the next project on the hop… and we have our bright and bubbly and very talented Kelly Kent. I’m a big fan of Kelly’s work, so I can’t wait to share it with you. Just click on the button below.

CI03: Colour INKspiration – Stampin’ Up!’s Window Shopping

Published by under cards

Well hello! And welcome to the 3rd Colour INKspiration challenge. It’s great to be creating again with the Colour INKspiration Crew.

Each fortnight the crew inspires you with a blog hop as we unveil the new challenge colours, and you can join in on our challenge page! We have 1000+ members, many of whom share their awesome projects. Seriously – you have to check out the photo albums to see what I mean! Come and join us.

For a little bit of extra fun, each week the crew will pick a winner, and there’ll be a people’s choice winner too.  I hope to see you there!

Another gorgeous pic to inspire us, along with their Stampin’ Up! colours. Can you believe that these are actually cakes! Ah-mazing.

This week it’s Marina Mist, Peekaboo Peach, Soft Suede, White and Soft Sky.

And again, a colour combination I have never used!

(I have to admit I struggled with this one, but it was fun to try something new).

I used the stamp set, (yay – now available!), and stamp set. And a little layer back there too.

There’s a touch of paper piecing of the flowers and leaves around the sentiment (make sure you’ve got super sharp paper snips for the fussy cutting) and a Soft Sky small enamel circle in the middle of the flower.

It is finished off with a little bit of and washi tape inside. (The washi is from the Playful Palette set).

So that’s me! Thanks for visiting 🙂

Next we have the very talented Rachel Palmieri. Click the link below to see what she has created with this great colour combination.

I look forward to seeing your creations over in the Challenge group!

Happy stamping,

CTC113: Stampin’ Up! – Lift Me Up Valentines Card

Published by under cards

Welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty blog hop.

Every Sunday night at 7pm AEST/8pm AEDT, the CTC Crew share great ideas from the latest Stampin’ Up! Catalogues.  We either directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) a project in the catalogue, or we use an aspect like a layout or colour combo as inspiration for our own creations.

This week, we are sharing our projects inspired by pages 4 – 7 of the Sale-a-bration Catalogue.

Come and join us! Make your own project and share it in the CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge Facebook Group.

CTC 113: Sale-a-bration

Life Me Up – Valentines Card

My inspiration came from page 4 of the Sale-a-bration Brochure, and in particular this cute little card:

I followed the layout but altered the size a little, and came up with this using the Lift Me Up bundle of products.

The pom pom trim is very cute! Must admit I hadn’t used it much, but I love the idea of layering it under the end of a cardstock panel.

CASEing the catalogues is great for learning new tricks. I hope you’ll give it a go over on our new Facebook Challenge group.

Next on the hop is the lovely Monique. Just click on the link below to see what fabulous creations she is sharing for us today.
