CI04: Colour INKspiration
Well hello! And welcome to the 4th Colour INKspiration challenge. Each fortnight the crew inspires you with a blog hop as we unveil the new challenge colours, and you can join in on our challenge page! Come and join us. For a little bit of extra fun, each week the crew will pick a winner, and there’ll be a people’s choice winner too.
This time we have some big, bold, strong colours. Wow – aren’t they powerful?
Delightful Dijon, Elegant Eggplant, Crushed Curry and white.
And this is what I came up with…
Definitely a softer version of the same colours.
It uses the Basket Bunch stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue.
The greeting is from the Sale-a-bration stamp set called Any Occasion (#143348).
I did a touch of water colouring on Shimmery White cardstock for the daffodils.
For the tinted embossing, there were a few steps.
- Ink the stamp with Versamark ink
- Immediately after that ink the stamp in Crushed Curry
- Stamp the image onto the cardstock
- Poured the clear embossing powder on top of the stamped image, shake off the excess and let the heat tool work its magic.
The embossing created a nice raised edge, which makes the watercolouring even easier.
Thanks for visiting today. Next on the hop is the lovely Julia Quinn.
Happy stamping,
Yes you have softened these colours beautifully, I love how your background makes the vase really pop out on the card x
Ooo, so pretty & soft – beautiful card Simone! Kelly x
I just love the simplicity of your card
Your card is so beautiful. Gorgeous watercolouring. I love the sponging behind the vase.
Clever use of the ‘Easter basket’ to make the vase for the flowers – so creative.
Love, love, love!! Especially the sponged background! I love the idea of using the baskets stacked as a vase. Very clever. Might have to borrow that idea pretty please Simone! x
Absolutely 🙂 xxx
So pretty Simone. I love how you have used the colour combination and the soft effect you have created.
I LOVE this card! I especially love the background “shadow” effect- lovely!!
Some very pretty touches here, like the petals at the base of the basket.
Love the embossing and the colouring, all done with perfect subtly
Great tip on the coloured embossing Simone! Adding that one to my “must make” list! I love that basket…. Reminds me of middle eastern spice market!
