CTC 213: Floral Romance Notebook (for Travellers Notebook Journal)

What’s CASE-ing The Catty? CASE stands for “Copy And Share Everything”. It means we use the ideas and inspiration from one project and apply them to another to create something altogether new. Each Sunday evening at 7pm AEST/8pm AEDT the CTC Crew kick off a new Challenge using the Stampin’ Up! catalogues as inspiration.

This week’s challenge is to CASE a project from pages 10-13 of the lovely new Occasions Catalogue, featuring the Floral Romance suite of products.

This is such a sweet and pretty combination of colours, layouts and products, it was a challenge picking just one element to CASE.

My main inspiration came from the gorgeous Floral Romance Specialty paper, which includes printed vellum. Wow. I literally wanted to use every different pattern in the pack… so I did!

My creative ‘play time’ led me down a very fun path. I ended up creating a 12-page notebook featuring every pattern in the Floral Romance pack.

Travellers Notebook

The notebook is 5″ x 7″ and I made it to fit inside my TN (travellers notebook) journal. The pages of the notebook are all made from the Floral Romance paper.

The outer cover is printed vellum, and is so lovely to touch. It has a bit of sponging, and I will add a label to the front once I finalise what I will use it for. At this stage, I think it will become my Gratitude Journal for 2019.

Here’s a quick flick-through of the pages of the notebook.

I lined the pages with panels of white cardstock so I’d have a great surface to write on. You can see the final couple of pages in this video were before the white panel was added. If you just wanted to add photos to your notebook, you could mount them straight on to the paper and not worry about adding the writing panel.

I absolutely love how this notebook turned out.

I added a removable bookmark to the front with a hidden paperclip, and highlighted the pages with Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.

Here are a few of the pages:

Would you like to have a go at this week’s challenge? To join in, you can either directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combination or something similar, as inspiration for your own creation. Then simply take a photo of your project and upload it to the latest challenge album in the CASEing The Catty Challenge group on Facebook. Each challenge will end at 7pm (AEST) on Saturday before the next challenge is posted. We pick some winners each week, but most importantly it’s a fun way to get out of your creative comfort zone and try something new.

  1. So pretty Simone, but so pretty that I wouldn’t use it I’m afraid!!! Oh, dear, how do you overcome that!!

    1. I know what you mean Judy! So hard to put pen to paper, but once you start it’s ok. Plus, I mainly use the Friction erasable pens now so that makes it easier lol

  2. Oh wow!!! Just gorgeous Simone! I love your notebook project – I’m going to try making this, thanks for the inspiration! Kelly x
