CTC 81: Birthdays – Confetti Celebration meets Blooms & Bliss

CASE-ing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop

Hi friends, It’s great to be back with the CTC crew again. I really missed creating while I was away on our big trip, so it was a joy to be back in the craft room this week.

This week we are CASEing (copy & sharing) from pages 10 to 25 of the new annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue.

Its all about one of our favourite card making topics. BIRTHDAYS!

You may have joined me from Monique’s blog, or you can start here. Either way, just keep hopping around and you’ll see lots of lovely projects to inspire you.

Haven’t seen the catalogue yet? Download it here.

Let’s get straight to the card:

CCTC81: Confetti Celebration stamp set meets Blooms & Bliss designer series paper. Check it out at www.simonebartrum.com (June 2016).

I was inspired by the layout of a card on page 10. Here it is on the left:

I used some of the new papers and accessories that I was lucky enough to get last week on the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip, namely the pretty Blooms and Bliss designer series paper and the new In Color Doilies (see above).

The stamp set used is the one on page 12, called Confetti Celebration. What a great set! I love the adorable row of lights which you could fill with bright colours, or just use them as a subtle background using Versamark ink like I’ve done here. The balloon and star are also versatile images. And of course the sentiments and happy birthday messages are always handy.

I can see that I’ll be using this set a lot.

Hi stampers! This is a fun Chrissy card, perfect for friends and family who live overseas. We had a great time at our group stamping day last week with a wonderful bunch of ladies – it’s so much fun to look at new ways of doing things, see how different colour combinations work, and learn new techniques.         True confessions time…. I have never been able to make a Pumpkin Pie card! I know it sounds crazy. Some people just lurrrrrrve Pumpkin Pie, one of the colours in Stampin’ Up!’s Earth Elements colour family, but I’ve just got this thing about orange I guess. Anyway, I wanted something really bright for…

During these crazy December days, it’s nice to stop and take a minute out for you! Sometimes it seems that all we do is race around after other people! Believe me, I know. I was thinking of this when I made these pocket cards for some stamping friends. They feature stamps from the sweet new…

  • Christmas Birthday Wishes

(Photo removed) Today is the birthday of a wonderfully talented stamper and friend who I’m very proud to say is one of my team members. I wanted to make her a special card, but I took so long making it that I didn’t send it early enough and I suspect it got caught up in all the Christmas mail….

  • Faux Mosaic Technique

Today we have a card that features the Faux Mosaic technique which I learnt from watching a Stampin’ Up! DVD for demos called “Workshop Wows”. I just had to try it! You can’t tell from the photo, but in between the mosaic pieces is sparkling Dazzling Diamonds glitter – it really shimmers in the light. The technique…

  1. hey Simone, welcome back. So excited to see some of that gorgeous new paper on display – mine is still coming. Your card really show how one layout can look completely different just using different colours and stamps. Another layout that would work really well for workshops.

  2. Did you enjoy your incentive trip Simone? The papers and doilies you received are lovely, and I love your interpretation of the card. I’d have never picked it if you hadn’t had the Catty pic right there.

  3. Wow, this paper looks great in your project – I had to go and look it up!! This is what I love about this blog – seeing projects and products in a whole new light – thank you for the inspiration!! It’s lovely to see the new products in action!

  4. Oh Simone, your card has such a lovely soft feel to it compared to the bright one you CASED! The Blooms & Bliss DSP is fast becoming one of my favourites & your card really showcases how versatile it is.

  5. Love your card, Simone. It made me go back and take another look at that page in the catty. Lovely to see some of the new DSP and the In Colour doilies too.

  6. I really like that you have used the dollies to create this card, I am awaiting my delivery of these as you have used them in a way I would not have thought about using them. Thanks for the inspiration.
