CTC 87 Stampin’ Up! – Artistic Expressions
This week the CTC crew are looking at the Artistic Expressions section of the annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue. It’s a pretty big section, going all the way from pages 92 to 157! So many gorgeous projects to inspire us. Thanks for joining us this week. If you get lost along the way, just click on the image below and it will take you to our CASE-ing The Catty page with all the links on it.
The little box on the bottom right corner of page 102 grabbed my eye when I was flicking through this section. Here it is…
Isn’t it a cutie?
I thought it would be fun to turn it into a card and ended up with this….
Honestly, the catalogue is a never-ending source of inspiration!
I like the way it turned out, but would never have thought of putting this card together without that little box as inspiration. I hope my friend likes it too.
Inspired by the original project I stuck to the colours of Pool Party, Crushed Curry and White.
The delicate Flourish Thinlits Dies are so gorgeous and fine. Oh my! This has got to go on your Wish List if it isn’t there already.
A sheet from the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack was picked out for my card front. Love that stack! Have you seen all the papers in that one? It’s very cool actually. One side has nature and textile photography, and the other has graphics.
I also used the Glassine Sheets for the first time on this card. Such an interesting medium to work with. It’s kind of like tissue paper but thicker, and it went a little shiny when embossed through the Big Shot.
Next on the hop is Krissy who has some lovely projects to share with you. Check them out here or click one of the buttons below.
Don’t forget our special for the month of July. Spend $90 and collect an awesome voucher code worth $9 of any Stampin’ Up! order between August 2 – 31.
Happy stamping,
Love the tag on this card, it made me look twice as I thought the ribbon was corrugated cardboard lol.
Simone this is just gorgeous. Love all your details, and so clever to turn a box into a card. haven’t tried the glassine sheets myself – thanks for the tip!
Wow Simone, you have pulled so many elements that I haven’t ever seen used before into one project to create such a pretty & delicate card. Can you believe I don’t own any of these things. Those Glassine sheets have peaked my interest!
Great card Simone, using the Glassine sheet and embossing it is a really clever idea.
Love, love, love this card Simone! Perfect adaptation from the box in the catty. Love the idea of using glassine sheets. I’ve bought them but never used them!!! Thanks for the inspiration! Kelly x
Lovely card Simone, I’m sure your friend will adore it. Nice way to use the stunning serene scenery DSP, and I’m think perhaps I really should add the Flourish Thinlits to my wish list – it looks so elegant on your card!
I love the flourish detail peeking out from the greeting and tag. I never even noticed this in the catalogue!! Thank you so much for the inspiration!!
Oh Simone, this is so pretty and feminine. A sample that I had overlooked in the catty. Thanks for highlighting these cute embellishments.
Just lovely, I particularly like the colours you’ve used and the flourishing thinlets dangling free.
How pretty is your card!! It looks gorgeous with the DSP.
