Keeping You in the Loop: Important Stampin’ Up! Updates

Hey friends, Just popping in today to share some news from Stampin’ Up! They’ve announced some product updates that will affect how we stamp, store, and create in the months ahead. I wanted to share the details with you so you’re prepared and can decide if you’d like to order before they’re gone.
Red Rubber Cling Stamps Retiring
Stampin’ Up! will be discontinuing the red rubber stamps (also known as cling stamps). Going forward, they’ll only be making and carrying stamps in photopolymer (the clear ones). Stampin’ Up! has had ongoing trouble sourcing the raw materials needed to make the red rubber ones – and some of those materials are no longer even manufactured! So really, there’s not much anyone can do about that!
Photopolymer stamps have been growing in popularity every year. Personally, I prefer stamping with them, and I think we can all agree the quality is amazing.
Important notes:
- No existing red rubber stamp sets will be re-released in photopolymer.
- Background stamps will continue, but they’ll be produced in photopolymer instead of red rubber.
- StazOn ink can be used with photopolymer stamps, but be sure to clean it off quickly to protect your stamps.
Stampin’ Write Markers Retiring
Along with this change, Stampin’ Write Markers are also being discontinued. Over the years, many stampers have switched to Stampin’ Blends, and one of the main techniques unique to the Markers – colouring directly on red rubber stamps – won’t be as relevant going forward.
If you love your Stampin’ Write Markers, now is the time to restock your collection. The Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker will also retire, but the Black .04 Stampin’ Journaling Pens are available as a fine-tip alternative. As of Wednesday 20th August, the Markers have already been moved to the Last Chance List. If you sort by “Newest to Oldest”, you’ll see them right at the top.
New Packaging for Stamps & Dies
From November 2025, all new photopolymer stamps and dies will come in sleeker, slimmer packaging. These are similar to the plastic pockets we already know from dies – but now with an improved, easy-to-close flap and a larger size. This means our stamp packaging will finally match our die packaging!
And in fabulous news: Images of the dies will now be printed on the packaging. No more trying to work out which set a stray die belongs too – how good is that!
If you love the hard cases with the spines, don’t stress – they’ll still be available.

What’s changing?
- Stamps and dies will now come in the same size and style of envelope packaging, making them easier to store together.
- The new packaging will be 5-5/8″ x 9″ (14.3 x 22.9 cm). I’m working off 14.5cm x 23cm.
- Die packaging will now show printed artwork (no more guessing what’s inside!).
- Slimline design saves space on your shelves.
- Optional packs of empty “Stamp & Die Organizers” (167772) – the plastic pockets – will be available so you can transfer older sets into the new packaging style if you’d like!
What’s staying the same?
- Bundled stamps and dies will still be sold separately, but in matching packages.
- Embossing folder packaging is not changing.
- Standard Stamp Cases will still be available for now.

What You Need to Do
If you love cling stamps or Stampin’ Write Markers, grab your favourites while they’re still available. Once items hit the Last Chance List, they’ll only be available while supplies last. The Markers are already there.
If you’re excited about the new packaging, you’ll start seeing it in November with the Online Exclusives release. And yes – you’ll be able to buy empty organizers to give your current collection a fresh look.
My Thoughts
Change can feel a little overwhelming, but I feel good about the direction this is taking. Photopolymer stamps are easier to use, line up beautifully, and soon they’ll take up less space.
I also know some of you prefer the current storage options, and I get it. If that’s you, please reach out – I’ll help you find solutions.
As for the Markers, I’ll admit mine haven’t seen much use lately. Like many of you, I tend to reach for Stampin’ Blends more often these days. Still, Stampin’ Write Markers had their place, and I know some of you truly love them.
Change is never easy, especially when it’s out of our control. But we’ve been through it before – remember when wood-mount stamps retired? At the time it felt huge, and now it’s just a memory. We’ll adjust to this change too and we’ll keep creating beautiful projects together.
Happy stamping,
