EurekaStampers Blog Hop - New Catalogue 2014-2015

Welcome to our inaugural EurekaStampers blog hop! I’m so proud of all the crafters you’ll visit today, who are not only Stampin’ Up! team members but friends too. I’m sure you’ll find plenty of inspiration as you visit them, so don’t forget to leave some comment love and let them know they’ve done a great job. xxx

You may have hopped over from Rebecca Scurr‘s page. Isn’t she amazing? LOVE her work!

For my turn to share I’ve picked a couple of my fave FUN creations since the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue was released.  The first is a Welcome card featuring Life’s Adventure, one of the awesome new hostess sets. Welcome Card - Eurekastampers Blog Hop

The houses were coloured with the new Blendabilities alcohol markers. You can see more about them here (along with a basic techniques video).

The Blendies we used are Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana and Old Olive. The base case is the yummy Lost Lagoon, with a layer of Calypso Coral and blingy Glimmer paper.

The windows have Crystal Effects on them for a glassy look. Bit hard to see in the pic, so you might have to take my word for it. 😉

My next project is one we made at stamp club this month. We turned the flat Tag-a-Bag Gift Bags into ‘bagalopes’. I guess we know now what the fox says.

Foxy Polk-a-Dot Tag a Bag Gift Bags - EurekaStampers Blog HopHave you made these before?

Bagalopes were one of the very first things I learned to make as a brand new papercrafter all those years ago. And they are still so fun to make! And practical too…. gotta love that.

.

How to make a Tag-a-Bagalope

1. Grab a Tag-a-Bag Gift Bag, just like these. Or even these if you prefer a chevron design.

2. Score the bottom and both sides of the bag at exactly 1 inch.

3. Carefully fold the score lines back and forth a few times so you have a good crisp crease.

4. Pop your hand inside the bag to push it into shape as you flatten the base. Secure the flaps on the bottom with washi tape (see pic below). So quick and easy! I like to put a 3″x 2″ piece of sturdy cardboard in the base to help it sit flat.

And for the fox?

My friend Lorinda (who you’ll meet in a few more ‘hops’ of this blog hop) came over the other week and showed me an adorable punch art fox. I recreated him for the front of this bag, tweaking the design a little so it uses all current punches.

His ears were made from the wings on the Bird Builder punch. And the paws and tip of the tail were from the Modern Label punch. The Large Oval punch was also used for his body and tail.

I added a 10 1/4 ” strip of Mossy Meadow cardstock around the base of the bagalope, after snipping it with the fringe scissors. I went back later and added another layer (which you can see above). He’s a cutey.

Alrighty, that’s me done.

Continue your hop hop hopping, as you land over at Carly’s page for more crafty inspiration.
