CTC 160: Picture Perfect Party

Published by under cards | Jan 07 2018

It’s no secret that my FAVOURITE suite in the whole Occasions catalogue is the Picture Perfect suite.

In fact, I may have made many, many, many cards already with this suite! Yay!

So I was super excited to see the first CASEing The Catty challenge for the year was looking at the gorgeous projects on pages 4 – 9. Well, I just couldn’t go past pages 4 and 5! I was going to CASE the colours, or the fun layouts using different papers and stamps. But in the end, I just couldn’t stop using the actual products from this suite.

It was the candles card on the bottom of page 4 that was my main inspiration.

I started by copying it almost exactly…

.

.

… and then used that layout and the awesome papers as inspiration for other cards.

.

How real (and delicious!) do those donuts look?!

And the paper bows are so fun too.

The papers are so striking!

But getting back to the original card, I wanted to share a quick tip.

Unfortunately the paper ribbon advertised in the catalogue is unavailable due to supply issues, but that’s no drama because I made my own fringed paper that creates a very similar effect. All you have to do is make tiny cuts along the edge of your DSP or cardstock, and you’ll have your own version of ‘fringing’.

Love it!

I’ll be back to share more of these fun Picture Perfect Party cards in more detail in the weeks ahead.

But for now, I hope you continue to enjoy hopping around to visit all the CTC crew blogs this week. So many great projects!

Up next is our sweet friend Kathryn – you can check out her creation here.

Don’t forget to join our CASEing the Catty Facebook group. You are welcome to join in our regular challenges right there on Facebook. Just share to the group! I hope to see you there.

Until next time,

happy stamping
