Quicky Hybrid: MDS & Stamping

I wanted to make a few quick hybrid cards using MDS and traditional supplies.

DID YOU KNOW? MDS digital files work in Stampin’ Up!’s My Digital Studio™ design software, a fabulous computer program that lets you create photobooks, cards, calendars, and more. My valued customers can try it for 30 days FREE – click here to download!

I coloured the images from the digital set called On The Go in My Digital Studio, then saved and imported them into my e-cutter (Silhouette Cameo). The machine did the fussy cutting while I created the base cards, but if you don’t have an e-cutter you could cut the individual pieces out by hand or stamp directly onto the base card.

car

For the ‘bouncy blue car’ card, the tread is from Gorgeous Grunge – the traditional rubber stamp version – on a note card base. I couldn’t resist adding Crystal Effects to the wheels, so the ‘quickness’ kinda went out the window due to the drying time. Oh well, it was fun!

The tractor pieces were cut separately and mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals, while the words were stamped in Stazon black ink. ‘Birthday’ went on to a window sheet offcut which was trimmed to a flag shape.

plane

The plane was super-duper quick to make. After the Silhouette Cameo did it’s cutting thing I added a mini brad to the propeller and popped it all up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The clouds were simply punched from the Cupcake Builder punch (p181).

Tip: The digital images used in these projects are all INCLUDED with the full-version of the design software, along with many others, and it only costs $24.95! Want to see what other digital files come with the software? Check out this 30 page file here: MDS_Software_Content.

We are in the middle of school holidays at the moment. It’s a busy but fun time, and the perfect opportunity to fit in a few hybrid ‘on the go’ projects. Digital will never replace traditional papercrafting for me, but it definitely has a place in my craft room. And lounge room. And on the train. And… well, you get the idea. LOL. <3

School Holiday Boredom Buster: Got any crafty computer-savvy kids who are bored these holidays? Download the software and let them try it out! My 10 year is an avid digital scrapbooker and it’s a joy to watch her experiment and explore her creativity. Here’s a picture of her ‘creating’ on one of the long train trips to the city.

You can find more info and the links to download it here. It’s a great project to do as a family too. Any questions? Just ask!

Happy stamping… and creating!
