Ready For Christmas Staircase bundle by Stampin’ Up! #2
I suppose to some people it would seem strange to be talking about Christmas when it’s only July. But as crafters, we need to get organised early so we are all set for a relaxed December. Am I right?
In just a couple of days, Stampin’ Up! demonstrators can order from the upcoming 2017 Holiday Catalogue, so Christmas is on our minds (and for some parts of the world, it’s all about Halloween and even Thanksgiving too). Would you like a copy of the new catalogue? I can send them out to anywhere in Australia and would be happy to help you with your stamping and cardmaking needs. Current customers will get theirs in the next few weeks, but if you’d like one just message me and we can get it organised.
In my last post I shared our first sneak peek of a brand new product from the 2017 Holiday Catalogue by Stampin’ Up!. A fabulous bundle called Ready for Christmas which features an adorable staircase, a detailed tree with matching branches and lots of extras. Yes, even the cutest little dog that looks a lot like a daschund!
Here’s that project again, but you can see more pictures of it here.

Well today’s share focuses on the staircase thinlits a bit more, and I’ve got some handy tips to help you with it too.
These oversized cards are 14cm square (5 ½”) and they show just versatile the staircase die really is.
It can be made to look like steps outside the building (you know, like leading up to an apartment) as in the card on the left, or an inside staircase leading to an upper floor in a building, as shown on the right.
But the best thing about this die…
It embosses as well as cuts!
Look at the fabulous panelling under the stairs, which shows up better on this .
The staircase stamp has a different look and will be awesome for watercolouring. But this die can be used on its own. Just a quick run through the Big Shot for a perfectly detailed staircase. Too easy.
Tip: You can also tell that the staircase stamp and framelit are not designed to work together because in the catalogue there’s no shading around the stamp image. That’s a quick way to know what dies coordinate with the image. It’s fabulous that we end up with different looking staircases from the one bundle.
And I have to say, someone really needs to make Harry Potter’s little room under the stairs. How adorable would that look?! Let me know if you make one.
For this card we’ve paired the Christmas Staircase framelits with the window dies again. Oh they are a match made in heaven. If you already have Hearth & Home you seriously need to order these staircase dies! If not, and you’re in Australia you can get that set here and I’ll even throw in some tutorials on how to make these projects.
The new Ready for Christmas bundle is available from the 1st of August for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. Are you in Australia but not with Stampin’ Up yet!? Join to access all demonstrator perks like early access to new products.
For everyone else, you can order this bundle from the 1st of September when the new catalogue goes live. Can’t wait!
9 tips to make this card:
- Use a behind the Hearth & Home Window die to look like a pane of glass
- Use instead of to allow a bigger gap behind the window so you can fit the tree with all the trimmings
- Use some pretty DSP for the look of ‘wallpaper’ behind the tree
- Decorate your tree with and
- Curve the edges of your tree with the bone folder to make it look even more 3 dimensional
- For more bling, add and sequin trim behind the sentiments
- For the exterior wall of your ‘building’ use a sheet from the Wood Textures paper stack
- Add texture with the embossing paste and brick wall stencil from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks
- Make your staircase look like it’s made from steel by die cutting it from the silver foil sheets
