Stampin’ Up! A Little Wild stamp set & Little Loves framelits
Hi friends,
This week the CASEing the Catty crew looks at pages 102-111 of the Stampin’ Up! annual catalogue – the babies and kids section.
Perfect timing for me, because just last week I got a delivery of new stamps, including this which appears on page 108.
And this is what I came up with:
As you can see, I modelled it pretty closely to the card in the catalogue but just switched out the animals and colours.
These stamps are so adorable! They come with the front and back view of the bear, lion and elephant, so that you can make reversible tags. So clever!
Of course, you can use them like regular stamps by applying ink to the front of the animal as I did here.
The is one of my favourite new additions to the product offering this year.
I thought I’d really miss the larger sequins when they retired, but these mini ones are even better.
Must admit, since I’ve discovered watercolouring with , outline images like these really interest me. The glimmery fluid in the blends the inks beautifully, and it just goes on as a smooth as silk.
Have you tried this technique?
3 Steps to Watercolouring with Wink of Stella
- Press on the lid of a closed Stampin’ Up! ink pad. Some of the ink will transfer to the lid, to become your ‘palette’.
- Dip the Wink of Stella brush in the lid of the ink pad, to pick up some of the ink.
- Watercolour by swirling the brush in small circles on your stamped image. Where you first drop the brush will be the darkest, so keep in mind where you want the light and dark spots to be. I find it easiest to imagine a light shining overhead on one side and that tells me where the shadows or lighter spots should go. The more you colour and swirl, the lighter it becomes until it’s time to pick up some more ink.
Although I didn’t use the dies to cut out our cutie patootie bear, I did use the leafy vine die for the background.
We cut out 5 vines and adhered them to create an interesting tone-on-tone background.
This is a great die that will no doubt come in handy for many other projects.
So there you have it for me this week. Next stop on the hop is Monica who is sharing a fabulous project for us.
