Stamping on Candles

Published by under cards | Oct 18 2009

Hi stampers! Well we’re back home from our visit to Melbourne yesterday for the Stampin’ Up Regional training day, and as expected it was a real hoot. A big hello to all the gorgeous, friendly, generous ladies I met there!

I don’t remember much from the morning because I was a teeny bit nervous (okay, petrified) about getting up on stage to do a Workshop Wow but that turned out to be a lot of fun too. Hollie from SU had left a message on my answering machine when we were in the UK, asking if I’d do a presentation, so by the time I got the message it had been sitting there unanswered for about a week! We finally caught up with each other and discussed options for a Workshop Wow, and candles seemed to jump out at us.

Here are the projects I demonstrated and displayed:

I’m typing up the notes (tips and hints for SU demo’s) that I based my presentation on, so if you would like a copy just click here to send a request. General technique information can be sourced from various online references, include SplitcoastStampers.

Decorating candles really is surpringly easy. Try it out and see how you go. If you muck it up, use that candle as your pracitice one until you get the hang of heating it for just the right time.

Happy stamping,

Hi simone, I have to tell you your presentation was fantastic! I had no idea it was SO easy to decorate candles! I marched myself down to Big W this afternoon & bought all my supplies & am planning on trying it out myself! Thanks for being so brave & sharing that with us
    Kind regards Bec

Loved your presentation Simone. I’d done a bit of simple stamping on candles before but yours were so gorgeous – very very inspiring. Didn’t know you could emboss and use glitter. And they looked so great with the finishing touches – the ribbon and hodgepodge. Thanks heaps for all the ideas.
    Cheers, Sue

Simone they look great. The flowers on them came up a treat. The hodgepodge on the square candle is fantastic. Well done. Jen

Hi Simone, you did a great job at regionals, I had no idea you were nervous *g*. I’m going to have a go at the candles, maybe even this week, you’ve inspired me!

    Hi Simone,
They look gorgeous, even better in real life. Love the colours and I knew you’d have a great time presenting. I feel all inspired – here come the Christmas presents. Well done.

Simone, your presentation was one of the highlights of the day at Regionals – you didn’t appear nervous at all! You are a natural presenter. Your projects were so beautiful. Thanks for bitiing the bullet and sharing them with us all!

Thank you thank you thank you Simone!! That was a FANTASTIC presentation. Very motivating (I made my candles yesterday) and explained so well and clear. You did such a great job and should be very proud of yourself. Thanks for some great inspiration. I’ll be posting photo’s of the day tonight and the candle that you inspired me to do. I still need a bit of practice though.
    Thanks again.
