Stamping with Friends… 700km Away
The Just Believe stamp set is absolutely my number one favourite stamp set at the moment.
I loved making this card but it has a funny story behind it.
I was on the phone to my friend Mel a while back and she was trying to explain a great technique to me. Well… let's just say, I was having serious trouble 'getting it'.
Do you ever have days like that?
So Mel told me to go grab some cardstock – now! -, my Framed Tulips embossing folder, a large background stamp like Sanded (the one I used here) or Woodgrain, some ink, a sponge and my Big Shot.
I shuffled around in my craft room with the phone tucked under my ear, gathering supplies, and she walked me through the whole process.
As instructed, I first inked up the background stamp and stamped onto the plastic of the embossing folder. Then I grabbed my cardstock, placed it in the folder on the non-inked side then carefully closed it. Then I ran it through the Big Shot – it inked and embossed my cardstock all at once! The nice part about this technique is that the ink doesn't go on the raised embossed parts so you can create lots of cool effects. I stamped the middle with the gorgeous Just Believe images and sponged the raised embossed parts on the border to really make them pop.
So even though we are 700km apart it just goes to show that it's still fun to stamp with friends! Thanks Mel. I don't think I ever did show you what the finished card looked like, so here it is! xx
Happy stamping,
