The Spot #136: Curvy Christmas Emboss Resist
Welcome to this week’s project for The Spot Creative Challenge. This week we have a technique challenge: Emboss Resist.
It’s been a while since I did an emboss resist technique, so it was fun to get the powders and heat tool out again.
For my project I chose the Curvy Christmas stamp set – a limited edition set that coordinates with the Curvy dies. Check out all the options in this fabulous new-release range here.
With this card I started by embossing the line of curvy trees in white embossing powder. Then I sponged different blue inks from the top down, starting with Night of Navy and working down into Balmy Blue.
A simple line of white ribbon tied under the raised panel finished off this clean and simple card.
About THE SPOT CREATIVE CHALLENGE:
Each week our Design Team of international creatives share projects based on a new challenge. It could be a theme, a colour challenge, a sketch challenge or – as it is in this week – a technique challenge.
Each Tuesday at 10pm (Syd/Mel time) you’ll see a new challenge post on the challenge website (click to visit). You can play along, and if you want you can even enter your card in the weekly challenge by uploading your project (and you don’t even need a blog!).
A winner will be chosen each week.
Your Challenge
So now it’s your turn. Use the sketch that you see at the top of this post, and use it as inspiration for a project of your own. You don’t have to follow it exactly – for example, feel free to change the heart to a different shape like I did in this card. When you’re finished, jump over to The Spot and upload a photo of your project. Have fun!
Happy stamping,
