Inspiration (aka Team Stamping Day Review)

Published by under general chat | Jul 30 2009

Well, it’s taken a few days to update the blog after the HUGE weekend!! An amazing day with my team on Saturday, a workshop with Carly and friends (‘wave’ to the girls) on Sunday followed by a work reunion. Monday gave me the chance to catch up with family in Melbourne. It was a rare opportunity to be in the big smoke on my own so I really made the most of it!

As promised, I’m here to share some of the fun we had on Saturday. What an amazing group of talented, creative, caring, funny and friendly demonstrators I have the privilege of knowing in my downline group of EurekaStampers.

Thanks to Louise our budding photographer for taking this photo!
Back row: Ali, Anna, Jodie, Lorinda, Deb, Kathy, Simone, Maureen, Tracy, Maree – we can just see her hiding there, Kerri
Front row: Alicia, Wendy, Elissa, Juliana)

We exchanged our swaps first. Some fantastic new ideas and inspiration here….

 Swaps

After a chat and cuppa the very talented Maree from Clunes shared her amazing faux-button technique. Yes, she taught us how to make our own buttons using all Stampin’ Up! products which then make beautiful co-ordinated embellishments for our projects! WOW!

We also saw some great cards for blokes.

Tool Card

Maree provided us with everything needed to make a clever bulldog clip photo stand! This is one of her finished products.

Tracy's brayer demonstrationWe had a yummy shared lunch (complete with stamped serviettes, much to Juliana‘s amusement), and then Tracy Penn from Berwick showed us some very effective brayer techniques.

She created a demo piece, and I had to laugh because it was the rooster stamp that I’ve been struggling to love. Well, the sample piece really caught my eye so I had to take it home. Stay tuned for a future blog post about this!

Maureen Crameri from Camperdown demonstrated a great mini album showcasing the ultrafine SuperNova glitter and heat & stick powder. And we all got to make one! Stunning.

Maureen's Mini Album

Juliana Main demoingJuliana Main (from Vic/NSW border) shared her WOW technique: Pulling Pastels. And it definitely was a WOW! She also gave us some scrapbooking tips to help us cardmakers   It’s true! If you can make a card you really can make a scrap page.

We also had a Tool Table set up. We played with all the tools in the catalogue, including the spritzer (to make a beachy bookmark), wheel guide (mitred corners), cropadile, etc, etc. Another make-&-take was a card from the Simply Sent Card Elements kit.

Finally there was the Punch Deck to make. Who doesn’t Luuuuuurve punches!

Pheww!! What a great day! Do you want to join us next time?

If you’ve been thinking about joining our fab group of papercrafters as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, ask for an obligation-free info pack.  We can get together and have a chat about how it all works.

Oh, just a quick reminder that our All Occassions Stamp-A-Stack is on this Friday July 31st. I can fit in just one more stamper! Email me to snap up the last spot.

Happy stamping,

Pick A Petal

Published by under cards | Jul 24 2009

I just had to share this cute card that my Stampin’ Up! Secret Sister gave me this week. It uses the Pick a Petal stamp set, and the paper piecing technique. Very clever!

My Secret Sister is so sweet she even sent my three little cherubs their own cards, and wrote they were from "Secret Auntie".

It’s a bit crazy around here at the moment so please excuse the sporadic posting. This Saturday is a very special day which I’ve been busily planning… the EurekaStampers Team Get-Together!

EurekaStampers is the name of my happy little group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. We’ve got ladies coming from all over Victoria and even NSW!! Because we are geographically so spread out some of us only get to meet in person a few times a year, which makes Saturday VERY special. When I first started these gatherings we all fitted around my dining room table; then it was the lounge room. Well, we’ve totally outgrown my house so we’re in a function room this time!  I’m soooo excited and can’t wait to see everyone (some for the first time!) and all their fabulous creations.

Have a great weekend and happy stampin’ (I know I will 🙂 )

Sweet Nothings

Published by under cards | Jul 23 2009

The Sweet Nothings Simply Scrappin’® kit (p138 Idea Book & Catalogue) is really something! I’m already into my second pack and I really love it.

Like all the other Simply Scrappin’ kits it contains:

  • six sheets of adhesive die cuts, which are made from a sturdy cardstock weight sheet,
  • eight 12×12 sheets of textured cardstock and
  • six double-sided 12×12 sheets of co-ordinating prints.
    All this for $36.95 + p/h.

That’s a LOT of product!

I’ve had a few of these kits in the past, and made various things from them including mini albums, flip albums, bags, cards and…yep, even scrapbook pages. They are heaps of fun and very very easy to work with. My favourite part is the adhesive ribbon strips. Use these strips as you would ribbon, but they are made from cardstock!

If you’d like to make any of the projects you’ve seen here, just ask when you place your order for a Simply Scrappin’ kit.

By the way, do you like the new-look blog? I have a habit of changing the furniture around at home (often unexpectedly!) as I’m a firm believer in ‘a change is as good as a holiday’. LOL. So my blog and I took a cyber holiday! Enjoy.
