The launch of the new Holiday Catalogue here in Australia means: SUMMER is coming, CHRISTMAS is just around the corner, and we can finally pack away the winter woolies.
It also means we have a huge selection of NEW stamps, papers, embellishments and tools to play with.
If you are interested in joining me for an afternoon of cardmaking as we knock out a stack of Christmas cards, then you’ll want to save the date of Saturday October 26. More details coming soon for this very special stamp-a-stack!
Here we are in September. A new month means we have new projects to share with you from the You Can Create It design team, all made from the August kit contents.
This is my 2nd month with the team, and I have to say I’m loving the challenge! Also, I’m happy to say I’ve now officially opened registrations so you can get these kits too. More info below.
The August kit included:
a Thick Whisper White card base
Silver Foil paper
two pieces of Come Sail Away designer series paper
and a generous 80cm length of bakers twine in Sahara Sand/Night of Navy.
Extra supplies included in the quarterly kit were a couple of A4 sheets of Soft Suede cardstock (some of which I used in this project), a copper dotted treat bag, a sheet of ‘Fluid 100′ watercolour paper and a full bottle of Stampin’ Mist stamp cleaner.
REGISTER NOW for the October – December kits, delivered to your door. Scroll down for more information on how to register at the special ‘Foundation’ price! Australian residents only.
Every month a little packet of papercraft supplies becomes the basis of our challenge. Our mission is to turn those elements into a card, or gift packaging, or some other finished project.
This is what I made with my supplies.
A little bit of die cutting and stamping added some interesting elements.
It’s a little difficult to see in the photo, but the stitched frame has been die cut from the Silver Foil paper, and a narrow 1cm strip of silver paper is underneath the bakers twine.
Design Team Projects
On the 2nd of each month the design team share what they created with these same supplies. So many gorgeous ideas! Check out their creations below and to learn more about the project just click on the creator’s name.

What’s CASE-ing The Catty? CASE stands for “Copy And Share Everything”. It means we use the ideas and inspiration from one project and apply them to another to create something altogether new. Each Sunday evening at 7pm AEST/8pm AEDT the CTC Crew kick off a new Challenge using the Stampin’ Up! catalogues as inspiration.
Everyday occasions & special occasions
This time on CASE-ing the Catty Sunday Challenge we turn to pages 12-71 of the Annual Catalogue for inspiration. This is the Everyday Occasions section. And yep, that’s a lot of pages! In fact there are dozens of project ideas within those pages to inspire and delight us.
The one that jumped out at me was on page 63 in the top right corner…
Family Party stamp set
We are celebrating a special birthday in our house today, so these cards definitely caught my eye.
My daughter is celebrating her sweet 16! Wow those years have flown by.
The Family Party stamp set is perfect for a special birthday because it has both numbers and stamps for family members like daughter, brother, mother, etc. In fact, it has a total of 38 stamps! (Check it out HERE).
I especially like the circle and belly-band look of the 60th birthday card above, and thought it would be fun to translate those elements onto a decorated Baker’s Box.
And this is what I ended up with…
Make your own shred
We gave our birthday girl a few little gifts, but what she really wanted was money to do some special shopping of her own.
To dress up the notes I put them in a stamped mini envelope and tucked it underneath home-made paper shred in the Baker’s Box.
I love that we can make our own shred in coordinating colours. Just slice thin strips of cardstock and scrunchthem up, then place inside the box or gift packaging.
Flirty Flamingo and Pretty Peacock are the colours used in this project.
The Baker’s Boxes from Stampin’ Up! are awesome. They come in packs of 8 and are food safe, so perfect for gifting your home cooked treats as well as general gift packaging.
And I’m happy to say that my 16 year old daughter loved it! (The box and the money lol)

Would you like to have a go at this week’s challenge? To join in, you can either directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combination or something similar, as inspiration for your own creation. Then simply take a photo of your project and upload it to the latest challenge album in the CASEing The Catty Challenge group on Facebook. Each challenge will end at 7pm (AEST) on Saturday before the next challenge is posted. We pick some winners each week, but most importantly it’s a fun way to get out of your creative comfort zone and try something new.
Hi friends! On the recent Stampin’ Up! incentive trip I had the privilege of meeting some of the talented members of the You Can Create It monthly mail-out challenge group. In German it’s called ‘Mach was draus’.
I love how we can be from different parts of the world and speak different languages, but we are all connected through our love of papercraft.
I was honoured to be offered a spot on the International Design Team!
Because this is my first month I thought I’d give you a quick explanation.
Every month a little packet of papercraft supplies becomes the basis of our challenge. Our mission is to turn those elements into a card, or gift packaging, or some other finished project.
In Europe these kits are available for purchase so crafters from all over can join in. I’m thrilled to announce that from October you’ll be able to purchase your quarterly kits from me right here in Australia! Stay tuned for more details, but between now and then I’ll be joining in as a guest designer so you can see how it all works.
The challenge in July was to use 2 x pieces of Bird Ballad designer series paper (6×6″) plus 2 of the Bird Ballad trinkets. The best thing about using these gorgeous patterned papers is that they have two sides! So with four different patterns I had a lot of fun creating the card.
Yes there is quite a bit of fussy cutting but the sharp paper snips did the job beautifully. I just steered the paper 🙂
On the 2nd of each month the design team share what they created with these same supplies. So many gorgeous ideas! Check out their creations below and to learn more about the project just click on the creator’s name.

Check back on September 2nd to see what we all made with the August mail outs.
Hello friends, welcome to the brand new month of July 2019!
With the new month we have two exciting offers from Stampin’ Up!®, both designed to save you stacks of your crafting dollars.
1. July Starter Kit Offer – ‘Extra! Extra!
Have you been part of the Stampin’ Up! family in the past? Maybe you wished you joined up years ago? Do you have a big wish list and want to save money? Maybe you are new to the world of Stampin’ Up! and know already that you’re going to be hooked!
If you have ever been thinking about becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, now IS the perfect time to join my team here in Australia.
Let me explain why…
From 1 July until 31 August, you can choose an EXTRA $45 worth of bonus products in your Starter Kit. That means you’ll now get $280 worth of Stampin’ Up! products of your choice, and it will only cost you $169. And there’s free postage on it too!
THEN, you’ll receive a $16 gift voucher code the following month to spend on any products that you’ve been eying off.
It’s a fantastic deal!
Seriously, it just. makes. sense. to join if:
you are a fan of Stampin’ Up! products, and/or
you are a regular shopper, and/or
you occasionally place big orders, and/or
you want to kick start your own business that combines your love of paper crafting with a way to earn some extra money
A past favourite from previous years, the return of Bonus Days means it’s the perfect time to go shopping for new crafting supplies.
For every $90 you spend during July (excl. p/h) you’ll get a digital code emailed to you which will give you $9 credit towards a shopping spree in August. Collect as many codes as you want! You’ll still get any hostess rewards as usual (if applicable) so this is purely a bonus just for you!
Only a few more days to go before I head off to this year’s Stampin’ Up! incentive trip: an all-expenses paid trip to Rome and a Greek Isles cruise for 2! #soblessed
I’m leaving hubby at home this time to keep the house and family ticking along, and instead turning this into a mother-and-daughter trip with my nearly-16 year old. It will be an adventure!
I’ll have internet access while away so don’t hesitate to catch me on Messenger or email. As usual, my online store is open for business 24/7. If you’d like to place an order during July, please use Host Code WQ3H69UC if the order is under $250. If it’s over $250 then you’ll earn a $25 host rewards to spend all on your own.
Hi friends! I’m SO excited about our theme for Case-ing The Catty this week. It’s all about the gorgeous new Pressed Petals suite, which is one of my faves (it’s running a very close second behind Bird Ballad).
In particular, we’re using the Pressed Petals colour scheme as inspiration, and the layouts on pages 72-74.
The rich and noble colours include Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, Rococo Rose, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.
Don’t worry, we don’t have to use them all! Just as many as we want. Phew!
The card layout I chose as inspiration was this one from page 73…
I changed it around to a portrait layout instead of landscape, swapped out the stamped paper at the top for Designer Series Paper, swapped the sentiment and changed around the flower a little.
Here is my version…
How amazing is the Pressed Petal Washi Tape flower?! Individual petals on a roll of washi tape, so you can peel off as many petals as you like to create a flower. Or use them individually for scattered petals. So fun!
You actually get two rolls of washi tape in this pack. The second is a gorgeous vintage-y script style, which you can see just a little bit of it poking out under the vellum sentiment.
The centre is from a punched daisy (trimmed) in Crushed Curry cardstock, with a metallic Designer Element embellishment to finish it off.
The sentiment was stamped in Merry Merlot ink, then clear embossed to help set the ink onto the vellum. I nice way to add a sentiment without it overpowering the design.
For more inspiration, continue along our fun blog hop. Next up is the fabulous Lauren Meiklejohn – you can see her project here.
