CTC 87 Stampin’ Up! – Artistic Expressions

Published by under cards | Jul 17 2016

This week the CTC crew are looking at the Artistic Expressions section of the annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue. It’s a pretty big section, going all the way from pages 92 to 157! So many gorgeous projects to inspire us. Thanks for joining us this week. If you get lost along the way, just click on the image below and it will take you to our CASE-ing The Catty page with all the links on it.

The little box on the bottom right corner of page 102 grabbed my eye when I was flicking through this section. Here it is…

Isn’t it a cutie?

I thought it would be fun to turn it into a card and ended up with this….

Happiest Of Birthdays: CASE-ing The Catty CTC 87

Honestly, the catalogue is a never-ending source of inspiration!

I like the way it turned out, but would never have thought of putting this card together without that little box as inspiration. I hope my friend likes it too.

Inspired by the original project I stuck to the colours of Pool Party, Crushed Curry and White.

The delicate Flourish Thinlits Dies are so gorgeous and fine. Oh my! This has got to go on your Wish List if it isn’t there already.

A sheet from the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack was picked out for my card front. Love that stack! Have you seen all the papers in that one? It’s very cool actually. One side has nature and textile photography, and the other has graphics.

I also used the Glassine Sheets for the first time on this card. Such an interesting medium to work with. It’s kind of like tissue paper but thicker, and it went a little shiny when embossed through the Big Shot.

Stampin’ Up! Jar of Love stamp set and die bundle

Hi friends, Here we are back for another fun Sunday blog hop with the CTC crew. Our crew has grown with the welcome addition of talented new members, Kelly, Krissy and Deb. Don’t forget you can play along each week too! All the details for the linky challenge for the whole month of July are found here.

This week we’re turning to pages 66-91 of the annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue for inspiration – the Everyday Occasions section. Thankfully we’ll be returning to this section again in a few weeks because there are sooo many gorgeous and inspirational projects on these page.

Stampin’ Up! Jar of Love bundle

This is the one that caught my eye this week…

I fell in love with the Stampin’ Up! Jar of Love bundle of photopolymer stamps and dies as soon as I saw it the catalogue.

In my card I swapped the fish for a flower and changed the layout slightly to allow for the stem of the flower, and ended up with this:

The Jar of Love stamp set is cute on its own, but paired with the matching Everyday Jars  dies it’s totally adorable and very user-friendly.

I also added some flecks of gold Wink of Stella on my card, die cut vellum for a few extra layers on the flower, and added some tags stamped in Soft Suede onto the watercolour paper.

The other thing that really struck me with the Jar of Love bundle is that it will go with so many other stamp sets! Imagine all the cute things you could pop inside the jar.

Colours

Inks used were Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Pink Pirouette and Blushing Bride. Cardstock was Whisper White, Sahara Sand (thin strip for the stem, hand cut), Kraft, a circle of Bermuda Bay and watercolour paper.

For more Everyday Occasions inspiration, you can continue hopping through the loop to Liz’s lovely project. And if you get lost along the way, just check back in at the Case-ing The Catty website.

ThoughtfulBranchesClass

Next month an awesome new stamp set and Thinlits die bundle will be making a brief appearance. Available for a limited time only, I’m predicting this 23 piece stamp set and 9 piece coordinating dies will be hugely popular so you won’t want to miss out.  I can’t wait to get my hands on it (luckily I don’t have to wait long – another perk of being part of Stampin’ Up!) and have already organised a couple of classes using this gorgeous bundle.

Best of all, you’ll be buying the bundle as part of your class fee! You will learn how to use these stamps and dies and will take them home at the end of class.

Bookings are open now for the following dates:

Thursday 18th August 1pm
and
Sunday 21st August 2pm

 >>>> Reserve your spot <<<<

Cost of the class is $95 which includes the exclusive Thoughtful Branches stamp set and thinlits dies bundle of products, valued at $90.75+p/h. Everything is supplied including adhesives, and you’ll even enjoy a cuppa and afternoon tea while you create.  Classes are held in beautiful downtown Creswick, in central Victoria not far from Ballarat and Daylesford.

Bundle includes 23-piece stamp set and 9-piece coordinating Thinlits dies. See them here.
