Exciting News: Colour Renovation

Published by under Colour Renovation | Apr 14 2010

Stampin' Up! announces a Colour Renovation!

This is amazing and wonderful news!! When the next big catalogue is released in September we'll be saying goodbye to some existing colours, and a big warm HELLO to 5 brand new colours. WooHooo!

Not only that, some of our current and past IN COLOURS will become part of the 4 core collections.

Although it will be a little sad to bid farewell to some of the colours we know so well, there's still plenty of time to stock up on cardstock and ink refills… 4 months in fact!

Click here to download the new Colour Collections that will be available from September 2010.

Click here to download the Retiring Colours – only available until August 2010
UNLESS SOLD OUT EARLIER.

You may wonder why this colour change is happening?

Well, it wasn't hard to work out (going by sales mainly) that some colours were loved more than others. It doesn't make much sense to continue stocking and offering product that isn't being used! It makes sense to stay ahead of the game and keep up to date with colour trends (think back to the colours of the 1970s and you'll know what I mean!).

Another reason why this change is happening is because WE ASKED FOR IT! The In Colours from the past few years were hugely popular and were seriously gorgeous. It was too sad to see them go forever… well now some of them will be back (including most of our current In Colours – yippeee). Some colours have to retire to make way for the new ones! It's that simple.

You'll hear more about this over the next few months, but for now I've got a super simple project to share…

No stamping on this card at all!!!

The main panel is from the Cottage Wall DSP (Designer Series Paper). The sentiment was a rub-on on Rich Razzleberry cardstock, and punched out with the Wide Oval punch. The gorgeous polka-dot Razzleberry ribbon finishes it off quickly and easily.

I'll be back tomorrow with some fun Tess cards.
Happy Stamping,

JAI11 Just Add Ink Challenge: Cheeky Monkeys

Published by under cards | Apr 06 2010

Just Add Ink Challenge 11I've been a fan of the Just Add Ink blog since it first started in January. I love looking at the projects created by the very talented design team, and often 'play along' with the weekly challenges… although I haven't officially joined in before today. Another thing I really love is the fact that the blog is designed by – and for – Aussie fans of Stampin' Up!, which means they use products that are available to us here and now. Hoo-ray for that!

When you visit Just Add Ink, don't forget to click on the tabs across the top especially the Tutorials one. I loved Sarah Klass's video on making a headband from Stampin' Up! ribbons and other bits and pieces. Sarah is such a crack-up!!! LOVE those ribbon flowers!!

Anyway, back to business. This week's challenge made me laugh… "use anything you like, make anything you like". Well, I thought, I can do that!!! So here I am to share with you my cheeky monkeys from the new Fox & Friends stamp set, available now in the new Autumn-Winter mini catalogue.

Fox & Friends card - Cheeky Monkeys!

The chocolate cardstock that the monkeys are sitting on is actually covered in ultra fine supernova glitter, but of course that's not going to show up for me here no matter how many dozens of photos I take – grrrr.

The jungle leaves are made from the Little Leaves sizzlits die and were cut oh so easily with the help of Mr Big (aka my Big Shot), also available now.

I was in the middle of making swaps for our team (more about that later) when I switched projects half-way through. Yep, ended up making a whole stack of cheeky monkeys instead of Rich Razzleberry flowers!

You have to laugh sometimes, don't you?

Anyway, I do believe this qualifies for this week's JAI11 challenge, so here you go Danielle and Amanda – my very first submission! LOL.

ETA (8/4/10): Ooooh how excitement!! I was one of the Top 5 picks this week at Just Add Ink! Thanks girls xx

Happy stamping,

Happy Easter

Published by under easter | Apr 04 2010

Wishing you a very happy Easter!

This is our first Easter in 8 years that we are not camping, so we've been making up some new family 'at home' traditions. Lots of fun.

Some of that was to spend time stamping, surprise surprise – LOL. My 6 year old DD decided she needed her own stamp desk, so we've found a corner in my craft room which is just for her. Today she learnt how to score cardstock, and which way to fold it ('mountain' on the inside, 'valley' on the outside).

We made this card for you!

Stamp set: Fox & Friends from the NEW mini catalogue, Sweet Slumber DSP, Wide Oval punch for easter eggs, Baja Breeze grosgrain ribbon, Chit Chat (retired) rubons. Fox & Friends embossed with clear embossing powder.

We also made you a little gift!

This pillow box was made using the Big Shot and the Pillow Box die. I LOVE my new Big Shot, who is now known as Mr Big in my house. It handled the acetate sheet without any dramas, and even the score lines came through.

These tags were punched out with the NEW Medium Jewelry Tag punch. You know what I discovered? Some of the stamps from Occasions For All (the Level 2 hostess set) fit perfectly in the punch. That's where these "happy" and "easter" stamps came from.

I've been working on some challenges today, and will share my first challenge for Just Add Ink tomorrow.

Before I leave you, I had to share this crazy lookin' easter egg that my chicken(!) produced. It just goes to show that not everything in life comes out as planned – even in nature. I took a photo of it next to a normal chook egg so you can see how little it is.

Enjoy the rest of your Easter!
